Job Title: Senior Buyer
Job Location: Wilmington, MA - Fully Remote postition EST preferred
Job Duration: 12 Months
Shift:
Monday-Friday 8am-5pm (Position needs to reside in Eastern Time Zone)

Job Summary:
A Senior Buyer is responsible for procuring equipment, materials, and services for assigned areas requiring specialized product knowledge or interpretation of technical requests. The individual in this role contacts vendor(s) to obtain equipment, supplies, and materials at the lowest competitive cost for product and services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Obtain critical materials and components, equipment, and services through interviewing and/or visit vendors to ensure supplier is qualified.
  • Review, interpret, and verify purchase order requests.
  • Verify quantity, anticipated costs and practical application of supplies/materials requested.
  • Research sources, solicit bids, and compare areas of quality, cost, delivery, and warranty/guarantee policies.
  • Commit company funds to vendors and expedite orders/shipment/delivery, updating enduser as necessary.
  • Establish and maintain automated purchase inventory files and records.
  • Authorize payment to vendor and establish adjustments as required.
  • Partner with Quality Assurance (QA) department to perform supplier audits.
  • Liaise with Global Procurement Category and Process team members on projects.
  • Lead local/national tenders for products and services, including full market research, evaluation, award, implementation, and ongoing management of the awarded supplier.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business administration or related discipline with 4 or more years of relevant experience and/or training.
  • Experience with SAP/Jaggaer preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
Certification/Licensure:
  • Certified Purchasing Manager or Certified Professional in Supply Management preferred.

Workplace Requirements:
  • Must regularly operate a computer and occasionally operate other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Must regularly communicate with employees/customers; must be able to exchange accurate information.
  • Must occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • General office working conditions; the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
  • This position requires occasional domestic/international travel.
