Senior Cable Assembler

Ready to be the hands everyone else measures up to? Source Engineering & Manufacturing is looking for a Senior Cable Assembler to join our Plymouth, MN manufacturing site. This is a senior individual-contributor seat: you'll take on our most complex builds, run first articles, and set the workmanship standard newer assemblers learn by watching you work.

Your Role Will Include:

• Build our most complex cable and wire harness assemblies from drawings, schematics, and work instructions with minimal supervision.
• Perform precision wire cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, potting, labeling, and bundling to IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards.
• Run and document first-article builds, helping dial in fixturing and tooling before a job moves to volume.
• Read complex engineering drawings and flag errors or ambiguities back to engineering.
• Inspect your own and others' work for quality and compliance.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of hands-on cable and wire harness assembly experience.
• Demonstrated mastery of crimping, soldering, and connector termination across multiple connector families.
• Ability to work independently from complex engineering drawings, wire lists, and schematics.
• Proven first-time-right workmanship and low defect rates.
• Strong attention to detail and disciplined, repeatable technique.
• Experience building complete cable assemblies end-to-end, not single-station/high-volume work.
• IPC/WHMA-A-620 workmanship standards experience, even without formal certification.

Preferred

• Current IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification (CIS); training and certification provided if not already certified.
• IPC/WHMA-A-620 CIT (Certified IPC Trainer).
• J-STD-001 soldering certification.
• Control panel build experience.

Salary and Benefits:

• $25–$32 per hour, based on experience and certification level.

Location & Shift Times:

• Plymouth, MN (on-site).
• First shift, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, Monday–Friday; FT.

Physical Demands:

• Fine motor control, close vision, and sustained focus at a bench.
• Frequent repetitive hand/wrist movement; extended periods seated or standing.
• Occasional lifting and moving of parts up to 35 lbs.
