Job Title: Senior CAD Drafter (Utilities/Piping)
Location: North Chicago, IL (onsite)
Hire Type: Contract, Onsite
Duration: 6 months+ (likely much longer)
Target Pay Range: $50.00 - $55.00/hour

Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced CAD Drafter/Designer to support field verification and updating of existing facility and utility record drawings at a large industrial/pharmaceutical campus. The individual will perform field walkdowns, compare existing conditions against current drawings, identify discrepancies, and develop accurate redlines and CAD updates.
Job Duties:
- Perform field walkdowns of existing facility and utility systems.
- Verify existing conditions against record drawings.
- Redline and update drawings to reflect additions, removals, and modifications.
- Develop/update drawings using AutoCAD 2025.
- Work with utility systems including steam, condensate, compressed air, piping and pipe racks.
- Identify drawings impacted by field modifications.
- Coordinate with engineering and Drawing Control personnel to ensure accurate record documentation.
- Support incorporation of completed drawings into the site's controlled drawing/document management system.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of CAD/design or drafting experience in an industrial environment preferred.
- Strong AutoCAD experience required.
- Experience performing field walkdowns and as-built/redline drawing updates.
- Ability to read and interpret utility, piping, mechanical and site drawings.
- Industrial, pharmaceutical, chemical, manufacturing, or similar facility experience preferred.
- Experience with Meridian or other engineering document management systems is a plus.
- Ability to work independently in the field and identify discrepancies between drawings and installed conditions.
