Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Calibration & Metrology Engineer to lead calibration and measurement system improvements in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have expertise in metrology, calibration processes, measurement uncertainty, and quality systems, with a strong focus on regulatory compliance and continuous process improvement.

Title: Senior Calibration & Metrology Engineer
Location: Houston, TX

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and improve calibration and measurement management systems to meet quality and industry standards.
  • Develop and standardize calibration procedures, SOPs, and measurement uncertainty methodologies.
  • Perform measurement uncertainty analysis, tolerance evaluation, guard banding, and fitness-for-use assessments using recognized statistical methods.
  • Conduct Out-of-Tolerance (OOT) and Out-of-Calibration (OOC) investigations, product impact assessments, and calibration interval optimization.
  • Enhance calibration methods for manufacturing, inspection, and automated production equipment.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, and Laboratory teams to improve metrology processes.
  • Develop training programs, define qualification requirements for metrology personnel, and support quality and compliance audits.

Required Skills

  • Strong experience in Calibration & Metrology Engineering.
  • Knowledge of measurement uncertainty analysis, tolerance evaluation, and guard banding.
  • Experience with OOT/OOC investigations, calibration interval optimization, and statistical analysis.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing and inspection equipment calibration.
  • Experience creating SOPs, calibration procedures, and quality documentation.
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, regulatory compliance, and audit support.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
