Every day, our products move millions of people as we aim to make driving safer, smarter, and more connected, shaping the future of transportation on a global scale.

    The Role:

We are seeking two exceptional candidates to join the Vehicle Dynamics and Chassis Controls team as Senior Calibration Technical Specialists at GM's Milford Proving Ground. One role will be as a Diagnostics Calibration Technical Specialist, with potential areas of ownership including AWD, Driveline, Trailering, State Estimation, and Chassis ECUs. The other Technical Specialist will be responsible for Trailer Braking and Driver Mode Control Calibration. Calibration Technical Specialists are responsible for indirectly leading a team of Active Chassis Calibration Engineers to produce high-quality, on-time deliverables for all vehicle programs using common methods, processes, and procedures. The selected candidate will also have a unique opportunity to influence and develop future Active Chassis architectures and controls strategies. The ideal candidate should possess comprehensive experience in both calibration and algorithm development, as well as demonstrated leadership, planning, communication, teamwork, and prioritization skills.

As an Active Sr. Chassis Calibration Technical Specialist you will:

    • Provide technical leadership for calibration within the product area and serve as the voice of calibration into architecture, software, and program teams

    • Develop common approaches and institutionalize them in Calibration Standard Work (Calibration Procedures, Deliverables, Master Calibration, etc.)

    • Improve the efficiency and quality of standard work by systematically driving present vehicle-based tasks into virtual (HiL, SiL, CoSim packages)

    • Mentor Calibration Engineers, providing technical training and establishing good communication and knowledge-sharing

    • Support Calibration Engineers to ensure high-quality, on-time deliveries and flawless launches

    • Collaborate closely with software/controls engineers to understand system functions

    • Collaborate with calibration engineers to troubleshoot and resolve calibration- and software-related issues that arise during development and production

    • Support and approve software change requests related to your product area

    • Support technical calibration peer reviews and leadership reviews

    • Lead the Calibration Technical Review Board (TRB): set agenda, drive decisions, track actions, and ensure issues and lessons learned feed back into methods and standards.

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):

    • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar

    • Minimum 4 years of relevant engineering experience (vehicle dynamics, chassis/driveline performance, brake controls, diagnostics calibration, calibration, etc.)

    • Demonstrated initiative to drive for results in areas of innovation and new development

    • Thorough physics-based knowledge of vehicle dynamics, brake systems, tire performance

    • Demonstrated ability to lead, coordinate and motivate the performance of a cross-functional team and achieve substantial influence without administrative authority

    • Exercise independent judgment with minimal input from leaders

    • High level of analytical problem-solving skills where problems are unusual and difficult

    • Strong understanding of C/C++ software development principles and practices

    • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment

    • Strong experience with Matlab/Simulink and Virtual development tools/environments

    • Fluent with in-vehicle development tools (INCA, NeoVI, etc.)

    • GM Level 3 (or ability to qualify), including comfort with test driving for development and validation

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Skills):

    • MS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar

    • Experience working in multiple functional areas within controls/calibration/diagnostics, especially across brake, chassis, and driveline domains

    • Experience developing/executing GM standard calibration processes, including Cal Check/Cal Guides, DOEs, and milestone reviews

    • High level of oral and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain complex diagnostic or feature behaviors, trade-offs, and decisions to both technical and leadership audiences.
