Location: Eddyville, Iowa

Work Schedule: Onsite | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Ideal Candidate
Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, or another related Engineering discipline.
Must have at least 4+ years of engineering experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, food processing, or chemical production facilities.
Must have demonstrated experience executing large capital projects or managing multiple capital projects.
Must have experience planning engineering deliverables, project schedules, and cost estimates.
Must possess strong knowledge of manufacturing equipment, plant systems, and engineering problem-solving.
Must have experience developing, reviewing, and awarding equipment and contractor bid packages.
Must possess strong analytical, communication, technical leadership, and project coordination skills.
Experience mentoring junior engineers is highly preferred.
The Senior Capital Engineer will support and execute capital engineering projects across manufacturing operations while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget. This role will provide engineering leadership throughout project planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up activities.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Project teams to support facility expansions, process improvements, equipment upgrades, and capital investment initiatives.
Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute capital engineering projects.
• Develop engineering designs and project deliverables.
• Prepare project schedules, budgets, and cost estimates.
• Support facility, equipment, and process improvements.
• Coordinate construction, commissioning, and plant start-up activities.
• Develop equipment specifications.
• Lead equipment procurement activities.
• Prepare, review, and award contractor and equipment bid packages.
• Analyze manufacturing equipment failures and recommend engineering solutions.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing systems and equipment.
• Coordinate activities with contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure projects meet safety, quality, budget, and schedule objectives.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 4+ years of engineering experience.
• Experience executing capital projects.
• Experience with engineering design and project execution.
• Experience with equipment specification and procurement.
• Experience supporting construction, commissioning, and plant start-up.
• Strong manufacturing equipment troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and project management skills.
