Job Description
- Focus: Mid to large capital projects from design through startup.
- Scope: Safety, schedule, cost control, construction management, and documentation.
- Impact: Develop and apply engineering standards and project management procedures.
- Environment: Manufacturers, retailers, and foodservice partners relying on technical expertise and market knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead development of project scope, schedule, and budget using best practice PM deliverables.
- Plan and coordinate construction, commissioning, and startup activities across functions.
- Perform process engineering tasks to meet project technical objectives.
- Specify equipment, run RFPs, evaluate bids, and execute procurement for equipment and labor.
- Analyze and resolve engineering problems affecting equipment, systems, and component reliability.
- Design and improve manufacturing processes, instrumentation, and equipment to maintain quality.
- Support operations with troubleshooting, optimization, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor and coach early career engineers through hands on training and project work.
- Independently handle complex issues and escalate only the most complex matters.
- Complete other duties as assigned to support project and site goals.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant engineering work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 8+ years of engineering experience leading capital projects or portfolios.
- Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Agricultural/Biosystems Engineering.
- Prior experience in chemical, food, or related process industries.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically to network plants as needed.
- Ability and desire to work hands on in a fast paced, technical plant environment.
