    Advertised Range: $45,176 - $48,338

    Job Summary/Basic Functions

    The University of Mary Washington has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Carpenter. The Senior Carpenter performs highly skilled carpentry work in one or more of the following modes: serves as project leader; serves as team leader and/or team member; works independently to provide senior-level carpentry tasks.

    Required KSAs/Competencies/Qualifications

    • Considerable knowledge of all phases of carpentry and building maintenance
    • Working knowledge of math, including fractions and decimals
    • Considerable skills in the use of hand and power tools related to the carpentry trade
    • Demonstrated ability to follow written and oral instructions

     

    Required Experience:

    • Considerable experience in the carpentry trade
    • Considerable experience with maintaining records
    • Considerable experience interpreting drawings, blueprints, and work orders
    • Considerable experience making cost estimates of labor and materials
    • Considerable experience working in confined spaces and working from heights, ladders and scaffolding
    • Considerable experience performing manual labor, including lifting and carrying equipment and tools to and from job sites

     

    Additional Considerations:


    EDUCATION:

    • High school graduate or equivalent
    • Vocational or trade school training in carpentry
