Position Overview:

The Senior Case Manager provides direct assistance to victims of crime and abuse through in-person and telephonic support, with a focus on survivors of intimate partner and family violence, including sexual assault and families of homicide victims. This role delivers crisis intervention, case management, and advocacy services tailored to each client’s unique needs. The position collaborates with internal teams and external partners to connect clients to critical services and resources. The Senior Case Manager plays an important role in ensuring clients receive comprehensive, trauma-informed care and support.

 

This position is located in Staten Island, New York.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide crisis intervention, direct assistance, and safety planning for victims of crime and abuse
  • Conduct client-centered safety assessments and risk management planning
  • Advocate for clients with public systems and agencies, including assistance with orders of protection and victim compensation
  • Connect clients with services such as shelter, mental health care, and public assistance through referrals and linkages
  • Provide emergency assistance including transportation, food vouchers, financial aid, and lock replacement
  • Maintain accurate case records and data in a web-based case management system
  • Participate in supervision, staff meetings, trainings, and community outreach events
  • Collaborate with internal programs and external partners to support client needs
Requirements:
  • Minimum of three years of direct service experience in a social service setting
  • At least two years of case management experience at Safe Horizon (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field, or equivalent experience (preferred)
  • Experience working with survivors of intimate partner and family violence and other victims of crime
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and collaborate as part of a team
  • Demonstrated compassion, respect, and a non-judgmental approach when working with clients
  • Ability to remain calm and supportive while working under pressure
Pay Range: USD $23.63 - USD $26.10 /Hr.
