Company Overview:

The Staten Island Workforce1 Career Center is partnering with Safe Horizon to find qualified candidates for a Senior Case Manager in Staten Island, NY. Safe Horizon is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting victims of crime and abuse through advocacy, resources, and direct services. The organization assists individuals and families impacted by violence by connecting them with essential support systems. Safe Horizon values a client-centered, trauma-informed approach and is committed to helping survivors access safety, resources, and services.

Position Overview:

The Senior Case Manager provides direct support and assistance to victims of crime and abuse by assessing client needs, providing resources, and helping clients access available services. This role uses a trauma-informed, client-centered approach to support individuals while developing solutions that reflect each client's unique circumstances. The position works closely with clients, community partners, and service providers to coordinate advocacy, referrals, and support services. The Senior Case Manager also maintains case records, participates in trainings and meetings, and supports community outreach related to victim assistance resources.

 

This position is located in Staten Island, NY.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct client-centered safety assessments and risk management planning.
  • Provide crisis intervention and direct assistance to victims of crime and abuse.
  • Advocate for clients with public agencies and assist with accessing available services and resources.
  • Provide referrals and connect clients with services based on individual needs.
  • Assess and provide emergency practical assistance in accordance with agency policy.
  • Maintain accurate case records and client data in the web-based case management system.
  • Participate in supervision, staff meetings, trainings, seminars, and community meetings.
  • Conduct community outreach, educational presentations, and collaborate with other Safe Horizon programs to support client services.
Requirements:
  • Must have at least 1 year of prior direct service experience in a social service setting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Social Work, Psychology, or Human Services, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience working with survivors of intimate partner and family violence and other victims of crime is preferred.
  • Bilingual skills in English/Spanish, French, Chinese, Arabic, or Korean is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide respectful, compassionate, and non-judgmental support to victims of crime and abuse.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, be resourceful, and remain solution-focused.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a calm and reassuring manner.
Pay Range: USD $23.62 - USD $26.58 /Hr.
