    Description

    Please note: This is a full-time office-based role (5 days/week).

    The role

As Senior Category Manager for Machinery and Electrical, you will take full ownership of a global category and shape how Maersk sources, negotiates, and partners with suppliers across regions. As a member of the Machinery & Electrical Leadership Team, you will help set the direction of the function - not just execute it - with a direct line of sight to the company's bottom line.

    You will:

    • Sit on the M&E Leadership Team, shaping strategy, priorities, and ways of working across the category

    • Own and drive category strategies that deliver measurable business impact

    • Lead commercial negotiations and tenders with key global suppliers

    • Drive both OPEX and CAPEX projects across the category - from day-to-day sourcing to major capital investments

    • Balance cost, quality, and availability to keep our fleet running

    • Build deep, strategic supplier relationships that go beyond transactions

    • Drive stakeholder management across operations, supply chain, and fleet - globally

You will be part of a team actively reshaping how procurement supports the business - through Operational Excellence initiatives, sharper commercial thinking, and stronger supplier collaboration.

    What you will be doing

    • Contribute as a member of the M&E Leadership Team - helping steer the function's strategy, performance, and people agenda

    • Own the global Machinery & Electrical category end-to-end - supplier selection, contracts, and performance

    • Lead OPEX and CAPEX sourcing projects, and be accountable for the commercial outcome

    • Drive tenders and negotiations with a direct impact on Maersk's P&L

    • Analyse spend, identify cost drivers, and turn insights into concrete actions

    • Build, develop, and challenge supplier relationships to unlock performance and value

    • Partner with internal stakeholders across operations, supply chain, and fleet to ensure alignment and execution

    • Support improvements in how we plan, source, and deliver goods to vessels

    • Ensure catalogues, pricing, and commercial terms are accurate and fit for purpose

    What success looks like

    • You create clear, executable category strategies

    • You deliver measurable cost savings and value improvements that show up on the bottom line

    • You build strong, transparent supplier partnerships

    • You contribute actively to the M&E Leadership Team agenda

    • You challenge the status quo - and improve it

    • You are seen as a trusted partner by stakeholders at every level

    Who you are

You take ownership. You don't wait for direction.

    • Commercially sharp and energised by negotiations

    • Structured - able to turn complexity into clear actions

    • Comfortable operating in a global, operational environment

    • Able to challenge stakeholders and suppliers constructively

    • Hands-on when it matters - this is not a "PowerPoint-only" role

    • Ready to contribute as a leader, not only as an individual expert

    You are likely to bring:

    • Experience in procurement, category management, or supply chain

    • Strong analytical and negotiation skills

    • A track record in complex, international environments

    • A relevant degree and full professional fluency in English
