Universal Technical Resource Services Inc. (UTRS) is currently seeking a Senior Cathodic Protection Technician to join our team.

Position Overview
This position will lead cathodic protection construction efforts, conduct cathodic protection surveys, corrosion control services, testing, assessment, coating inspections, and corrosion inspections to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements for multiple industries. These industries include, but are not limited to:
- Airports
- Transit systems
- Bridges
- Data center chiller systems
- Power plants
- Pipelines
- Tanks
- Water and wastewater treatment plants
- Concrete structures
This is full-time work. You will perform work from home and report to the jobsites as necessary. Most jobs are within the Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and Maryland vicinity. The ideal candidate will reside within driving distance of these areas. You may rent a vehicle or drive your own vehicle for project travel. You will be reimbursed for tolls and the mileage rate as listed on gsa.gov when driving your own vehicle. 30% travel is estimated for jobs across the continental US requiring air travel. The ideal candidate will reside within approximately 1 hour travel time to a major airport.
What You Will Be Doing
This position will be a key member of the Cathodic Protection/Corrosion team. Duties include:
- Construction Lead: Preparing labor and materials proposals, schedule, and plan projects.
- Perform cathodic protection system installations.
- Test and troubleshoot cathodic protection system and equipment to ensure effective operation.
- Test, inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot assigned rectifier, bond, test stations, and coupons.
- Perform regulatory-driven cathodic protection surveys and maintenance to ensure compliance and prevention program effectiveness.
- Perform interference testing.
- Perform Close Interval Surveys (CIS).
- Perform field repairs.
- Support the atmospheric corrosion inspection and maintenance program to maintain equipment integrity and ensure compliance.
- Utilize Pipeline Compliance System (PCS) software to record, monitor, and evaluate cathodic protection and atmospheric corrosion data to ensure compliance with company and regulator requirements.
- Assist in planning work and contributing budget-related information as required, consistent with the annual budgeting process.
What Skills the Ideal Candidate Will Have
This position will require the following skillsets and experience:
- Certification, diploma, or degree in corrosion technology or a related field.
- 4 or more years of related experience with cathodic protection systems.
- AMPP/NACE certified Cathodic Protection Technician (CP Level 2) Certification or higher, or Equivalent Certification.
- Effective interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, independent, innovative, responsible, and a phenomenal teammate with a strong work ethic and initiative.
- Role requires a valid drivers license, which will be verified with a motor vehicle check prior to hire.
- Familiarity with CFR 49 Parts 192, 193, and 195.
- Ability to obtain a TWIC Card (Transportation Worker Identification Card).
