A growing advanced manufacturing and machining organization supporting aerospace and defense customers is expanding into chemical processing operations and is seeking an experienced Senior Chemical Process Engineer. This role will play a critical part in establishing, managing, and sustaining compliance for NADCAP-accredited chemical processes and inspections.

This is a rare opportunity to build and lead an in-house chemical processing operation inside a fast-growing precision manufacturing environment serving aerospace/defense customers. Job Details

What you’ll be building / leading:
Implementation and optimization of surface finishing and coating processes (conversion coatings, anodizing, pre-paint prep, priming/painting, and related inspection/testing)
Creation of SOPs, risk assessments, safe handling procedures, and process controls
Troubleshooting yield/quality issues using data, root cause, and corrective actions
Ownership of wastewater treatment and environmental controls connected to chemical operations
Leadership of technicians: training, expectations, coaching, and building a safety-first culture
Driving the facility toward industry and customer certifications (including special process accreditation and aerospace quality requirements)
Audit support and customer/regulatory technical interface

What success looks like:
Within the first 6–12 months, you’ve helped stand up stable processes with strong controls, trained technicians who can execute consistently, and moved the operation toward certification readiness—while improving safety, yield, and throughput.
Who this fits best

Chemical process engineering in regulated manufacturing (aerospace/defense/high-tech preferred)
Surface treatments / finishing chemistry (anodizing, conversion coatings, cleaning/etching, coatings/paint systems, inspection methods)
Quality toolsets: SPC, FMEA/PFMEA, MSA, RCA/corrective action
Chemical bath control methods (titrations, pH, metrics, and control plans)
Environmental compliance and/or waste treatment systems
