    Department: Engineering

    Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8-5 unless otherwise needed.

    Job Status: Full-Time

    Amount of Travel: 10-30%

    Position Summary

    Pioneer Technical Services is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer specializing in civil engineering to be based in one of our permanent Montana office locations depending on the experience and work location needs of the applicant. The position requires experience in multiple phases of civil engineering consultation including the ability to market new work, review and understand project design documents, prepare construction plans and specifications, perform planning level designs, support design teams through cost estimation, scope development, engineering analysis, and field inspection. The Senior Civil Engineer will perform the following specific duties:

    • Independently perform engineering tasks including planning level designs, alternative analysis, preparation of design plans and specifications, and manage construction projects.
    • Work collaboratively with other engineering disciplines within Pioneer, including structural, geotechnical, water resources, and environmental.
    • Conduct technical review and project management for engineering, deliverables, schedule, and invoices.
    • Manage and mentor junior engineering staff.
    • Prepare and review technical reports.
    • Develop scopes of work and budget estimates for engineering projects.
    • Perform civil related construction observation.
    • Assist with business development and proposal writing efforts.

    Skills & Abilities

    Experience: 5 to 10 years of experience in civil engineering or related design work

    Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering.

    Registration: Professional Engineer (PE) registration in the state of Montana or have the ability to obtain registration in the state of Montana within 6 months of the date of hire.

    Computer Skills: Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products and have experience with Autodesk Civil 3D.

    Other Requirements: The ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team when solving complex, technical problems is essential. The job requires strong written skills, interpersonal skills, as well as flexibility and enthusiasm in performing a variety of tasks.
