Senior Civil Engineer – HDRJoin us to design critical infrastructure that supports the digital age and shapes spaces where people work, connect, and thrive. You will work with mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil engineering experts to solve complex design challenges with precision, creativity, and collaboration.ResponsibilitiesDesign and plan production on a wide variety of commercial and industrial projects, including site planning and layouts, grading and drainage, paving, site utilities, and associated civil engineering infrastructure activitiesPrepare specifications and contract documents, and cost estimatesAdvance permitting requirementsPerform complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard engineering techniques and proceduresServe as a technical expert with recognized authority in a specialization that resolves problems of greater scope and complexity as neededFunction both independently and within HDR project teamsPlan, organize and supervise work of a medium to large staff of professionals and technicians as needed; help with the initial recruitment to build the staffServe as a Project Manager on larger projects, although project management is not the sole focus of this positionBe responsible for client management and program development within the Civil SectionUnderstand HDR's work‑sharing mentality regarding other offices in the regionPerform other duties as neededPreferred QualificationsExperience with Microsoft Office applications, MicroStation, InRoads and other civil engineering software as appropriateStrong operating knowledge of Civil 3D is highly preferredProduction‑orientated individual that is self‑motivated, collaborative and possesses strong leadership skills with an initiative to deliver high quality, technically sound civil site designsHands‑on experience in site development, drainage/grading projectsPreference given to local candidates with understanding/relationships within market (Kentucky/Tennessee)Required QualificationsBachelor's degreeA minimum of 10 years design experience managing various civil/site design projectsProfessional Engineer (PE) licenseProject Engineering and Project Management experienceAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a mustWhat We BelieveHDR is our company.
