Our client, a respected multidisciplinary engineering and infrastructure consulting firm, is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer / Senior Project Manager to support and lead transportation and transit projects throughout the Pacific Northwest. This is an outstanding opportunity for a licensed Professional Engineer with strong project management, client relationship, and transportation design experience.

They are recognized for their collaborative culture, technical excellence, and commitment to delivering impactful projects for public and private sector clients.he ideal candidate will bring expertise managing complex transit and public works projects while leading multidisciplinary teams and supporting business development initiatives. Experience working with transit agencies such as Sound Transit, King County Metro, or Pierce Transit is highly preferred.

Project Leadership & Delivery

  • Serve as Senior Project Manager for multidisciplinary transportation and transit projects.
  • Lead projects through planning, design, construction administration, and closeout phases.
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, quality, and client expectations.
  • Prepare and oversee project work plans, risk management plans, schedules, and quality control processes.
  • Monitor project performance metrics, financials, invoicing support, and accounts receivable activities.

Technical Engineering Responsibilities

  • Lead civil engineering design efforts and preparation of construction plans, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Direct design production utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software platforms.
  • Coordinate technical teams and subconsultants to ensure successful project execution.
  • Provide oversight during construction administration and respond to project-related technical issues.

Client Management & Business Development

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with transportation agencies and public works clients.
  • Lead proposal preparation efforts including scopes, schedules, budgets, presentations, and pursuit strategies.
  • Participate in marketing and business development activities to support growth initiatives and client expansion.
  • Support office leadership initiatives including strategic planning, recruiting, staffing projections, and team development.

Leadership & Mentorship

  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, project managers, and technical staff.
  • Foster collaboration, accountability, and professional growth across project teams.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, company procedures, and project delivery best practices.

You will need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE).
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Washington State.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in transportation or civil infrastructure engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience managing transportation projects for transit or public agency clients.
  • Strong background in:
    • Transportation design
    • Civil engineering plan production
    • Project management
    • Construction administration
    • Client coordination
  • Proficiency with:
    • AutoCAD Civil 3D
    • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
