Description

Recognized for shaping California law through cutting-edge, precedent-setting litigation, a well-established Sacramento-based law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Litigation Attorney to manage an active caseload from inception through trial and appeal.

The firm represents individuals and businesses in state and federal courts throughout California in complex disputes involving governmental overreach, constitutional violations, and private-party litigation. Its practice is dedicated to preserving the constitutional liberties and property rights guaranteed by the United States and California Constitutions and advancing legal principles that have a lasting impact beyond the individual case.

The firm's practice encompasses constitutional law, property rights, land use, real estate, business, education, and appellate litigation. The successful candidate will assume primary responsibility for active litigation matters, including developing case strategy, drafting and arguing law and motion, managing discovery, taking and defending depositions, counseling clients, conducting settlement negotiations, preparing for trial, and handling appeals. The attorney will also supervise and mentor a junior attorney, providing guidance on litigation strategy, legal research and writing, case management, and professional development.

Working closely with the firm's principals, the successful candidate will exercise significant independence in managing sophisticated, high-impact litigation while helping develop the firm's next generation of litigators. The firm's statewide practice provides opportunities to litigate significant matters before trial and appellate courts across California.
