As a Client Service Specialist, you are responsible for assisting in the day to day servicing responsibilities for Schwab's recordkeeping clients consistent with Schwab's goals and guiding principles. You will support a team of Client Service Managers responsible for our clients' complete satisfaction with Schwab. Included in your responsibilities are the daily administration assignments, such as, researching participant or client related questions, comprehension/application of procedures, processes, and systems, as well as direct contact with Schwab's clients. The Specialist will also participate in the research, development, and production of strategic solutions to meet our retirement client needs including accumulation of supporting documents or reports. The Client Service Specialist will also be required to demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly in both written and face-to-face communications, work collaboratively within the organization, share best practices, and aid in the continuous improvement of the services provided by Schwab.

What you have

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work experience required - directly relevant experience will be considered for a senior role
  • Qualified Plan/Trust administration experience preferred
  • Basic understanding of ERISA, pension, trust and securities industries preferred
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and oral), with strong attention to detail and the ability to use appropriate communication channel
  • Ability to lead internal and external calls and present material in an effective manner
  • Demonstrated ability to apply effective strategic thinking to find efficiencies and eliminate manual or risky processes
  • Outcome-oriented with demonstrated ability to deliver the most effective solution possible for our clients
  • Demonstrated record as a self-starter and fast learner with business and technical acumen
  • Ability to manage multiple workflows at a time and effectively prioritize time sensitive items
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to work promptly and flexibly in response to changing priorities
  • Strong analytic skills with the ability to quickly analyze data to identify key insights and implications for business decisions
  • Strong influencing skills/ability to build credibility with clients and internal partners, lead meetings, and drive action
  • Strong and demonstrated project management skills with the ability to see things through from concept to implementation, with previous experience in managing complex projects
  • Strong orientation to client service and relationship building, including ability to understand client needs and apply this understanding to consult on appropriate solutions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of tools (Word, Excel, PPT, Teams, etc.)
  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise and ability to serve as a resource to others in each area
  • Depth of knowledge in current role to support mentorship and onboarding of new hires
