Role Overview:
A state government IT agency is seeking a Senior Cloud AI Architect to design and implement secure, scalable, and ethical AI/ML solutions supporting public sector operations. The role requires deep expertise in AWS cloud architecture and advanced AI/ML technologies, with the ability to lead technical teams, mentor architects, and collaborate with stakeholders across multiple agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and implement enterprise IT architecture, AWS cloud solutions, and advanced AI/ML systems across state agency environments
Evaluate and implement solutions for private, public, and hybrid cloud models (IaaS, PaaS, and related cloud services)
Architect secure and compliant AI/ML solutions leveraging public cloud or hybrid environments
Recommend and implement AI platforms, frameworks, and tools (e.g., AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, Google Vertex AI, PyTorch)
Develop and deploy generative AI (GenAI), LLMs, and chatbot solutions for public sector use cases
Ensure AI solutions adhere to ethics, bias mitigation, and responsible AI frameworks
Communicate with stakeholders at all levels; mentor and supervise junior architects
Required Skills & Experience:
10+ years of overall IT experience, including 5+ years of enterprise full-life cycle architecture experience
5 8 years of hands-on technical application architecture experience, including application build and modernization
Extensive experience architecting and deploying applications in AWS environments
5+ years evaluating architectural alternatives across private, public, and hybrid cloud models
3+ years working with AI/ML platforms and tools (AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, Google Vertex AI, PyTorch)
3+ years designing secure and compliant AI/ML solutions in cloud or hybrid environments
3+ years with GenAI, chatbot development, and LLM deployment for public sector use cases
3+ years applying AI ethics, bias mitigation, and responsible AI frameworks
AWS Certified Solutions Architect (certification upload required)
Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent work experience
Preferred Skills:
Experience with state or local government IT programs
Additional cloud architecture or AI specialty certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Knowledge of public sector compliance standards (FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST AI RMF, NIST 800-53)
Prior involvement in federal, state, or municipal digital transformation initiatives
Enterprise-wide integration experience for cloud and AI solutions
Additional Details:
Standard schedule: 8 hours/day, Monday Friday. Candidates must be local to the Metro Atlanta area. Hybrid arrangement with onsite availability required as directed.
