Senior Cloud Database Engineer

KBR is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Database Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and management of enterprise cloud data infrastructure in support of a federal civilian agency's mission. This role is responsible for delivering scalable, secure, and efficient database architectures across multi-cloud environments with a primary focus on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in data architecture, cloud-native database solutions, and interoperability across diverse data systems, with the ability to support mission-focused objectives and enterprise-level digital transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a closely related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud database architecture and management supporting large-scale enterprise environments with 8-10 years of progressive database experience.
Certifications (All required):
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Architect Certification
OCI Implementation Specialist Certification
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in database design, data modeling, SQL, and performance tuning.
Hands-on experience managing data environments in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
Understanding of interoperability principles, cloud-native storage, and integration strategies.
Clearance Ability to obtain a TS/SCI
Communication: Strong communication skills required for technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, and oral presentations.
Bachelors degree in engineering, or computer science, or equivalent work experience
