Akkodis is seeking a Senior Cloud Database Engineer (GCP and AI) for a Contract with a client in Dearborn, MI (Hybrid). The ideal candidate will be responsible for responsible for defining cloud database strategy, architecture, and AI‑enabled "golden paths" on Google Cloud Platform.
Rate Range: $55/Hour to $65/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Senior Cloud Database Engineer (GCP and AI) Job Responsibilities include:
Define and own cloud database architecture, standards, and "golden paths" on Google Cloud Platform.
Lead AI/GenAI enablement for databases, including Gemini Enterprise, MCP patterns, and intelligent automation.
Architect, deploy, and optimize multi‑engine GCP database solutions (Cloud SQL, AlloyDB, Spanner, BigQuery, Firestore).
Establish metadata governance, data discoverability, and compliance using Dataplex and Knowledge Catalog.
Apply SRE and performance engineering practices to ensure reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship while collaborating with platform, data, and AI teams.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in cloud database or platform engineering.
Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform databases and services (Cloud SQL, AlloyDB, Spanner, BigQuery, Firestore) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
Proven expertise embedding AI/GenAI capabilities (e.g., Gemini Enterprise, MCP patterns), metadata governance (Dataplex/Knowledge Catalog), and secure, scalable database architectures.

Pay Details: $55.00 to $65.00 per hour
