ECS is seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to support a customer at Fort Meade, MD.

ECS is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to support multiple U.S. Coalition Mission Partner Environments (MPE) in an operational DOW environment, each with a unique set of data, applications, and information systems. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and sustaining a secure Azure-based network within a classified DOW environment supporting virtual MPE network infrastructure. This role will provide senior-level engineering expertise across cloud architecture, identity, and networking within an isolated, secure environment.

This position is a demanding, high-energy role that requires both deep Azure cloud technical expertise and soft skills to drive program initiatives. The ideal candidate excels in analytical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, time management, and the ability to translate complex concepts for non-technical stakeholders. The Senior Cloud Engineer reports to the Chief Architect and joins a multidisciplinary organization that delivers excellence in cloud-native environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain secure cloud infrastructure within an Azure environment, supporting application deployment and platform services
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Azure ARM templates or Bicep
  • Configure and manage Azure Firewall, ExpressRoute, VNET, VPN Gateway, VLAN segmentation, and DNS
  • Engineer and maintain enterprise identity solutions using Microsoft Entra ID, AD, SSO/Federation and ICAM solutions such as PingFederate
  • Implement and maintain secure boundary controls, PKI infrastructure, and encryption solutions
  • Support deployment and operation of enterprise platforms such as Elasticsearch and O365 in Azure cloud
  • Support encryption, data tagging, and secure data sharing with enterprise Data Centric Security (DCS) solutions such as Virtru
  • Create network diagrams, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and maintain implementation/audit-ready artifacts
  • Support RMF documentation, security assessments, and compliance activities
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to mid-level cloud engineers
  • Design disaster recovery and business continuity solutions in Azure cloud
  • Support cloud cost optimization initiatives
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement cloud adoption strategies
  • Other duties, as assigned

ECS Federal LLC

ECS was founded in 2001 by experienced IT professionals with a commitment to quality processes, people and performance. Led by our Chairman, Roy Kapani, and an experienced executive leadership team, ECS provides our customers with solutions and services that support their critical needs and further mission objectives. This commitment has paved the way for expansive growth, year over year.

ECS gained market share in 2011 in the Department of Defense and Federal spaces through both organic and acquisition growth. In May, ECS completed its first strategic acquisition with the purchase of OAK Management, Inc., a leading provider of marine environmental services, ship systems engineering, maritime consulting and platform acquisition management. The OAK acquisition kicked off ECS’ intention to add tactical acquisitions as a part of its long term strategy to supplement and expand upon organic growth and to build enterprise value. ECS closed out 2011 with the acquisition of Paradigm Technologies, Inc. The Paradigm transaction added approximately 200 employees to ECS’ existing 900+ employees. Paradigm also added new Defense clients for ECS, including the Missile Defense Agency, the Navy’s Program Executive Officer for Integrated Warfare Systems, the United States Marine Corps, and the U.S. Marshals Service.

In 2012, ECS completed the acquisition of iLuMinA Solutions, Inc. iLuMinA brings large-scale Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software implementation and infrastructure design and development to ECS’ expanding capabilities.

ECS will continue to invest in corporate infrastructure and quality processes as we grow and enhance our ability to offer professional excellence to both our customers and our employees.
