Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

A large, globally distributed professional services organization is seeking a senior Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to support and evolve its enterprise infrastructure environment across cloud, virtualization, storage, and data center operations.

This role will focus on designing, implementing, and optimizing hybrid cloud infrastructure in a highly available, security-conscious environment with offices and users distributed across multiple locations and time zones. The right candidate will bring deep infrastructure engineering expertise combined with strong operational judgment, collaboration skills, and experience supporting complex enterprise environments.

This is a highly hands-on engineering role with significant involvement in modernization initiatives, operational stability, automation, and long-term infrastructure strategy.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design and implement hybrid cloud infrastructure across compute, storage, virtualization, and enterprise data center environments
• Evaluate existing infrastructure and recommend improvements related to scalability, reliability, performance, and security
• Support integration of cloud services into existing enterprise infrastructure architectures
• Develop and maintain operational standards, procedures, and infrastructure documentation
• Partner with infrastructure, networking, security, compliance, and application teams on enterprise modernization initiatives
• Support high availability, disaster recovery, business continuity, backup, and operational resiliency efforts
• Help maintain compliance with enterprise IT governance, audit, and security requirements
• Lead and support infrastructure implementation projects across global environments
• Collaborate across technical teams to coordinate upgrades, migrations, and operational improvements
• Utilize automation and infrastructure-as-code practices to improve operational consistency and efficiency
• Evaluate emerging technologies and vendor solutions to support long-term infrastructure strategy
• Leverage operational monitoring, telemetry, and automation tools to improve system reliability and troubleshooting capabilities

What They're Looking For

• 5+ years of enterprise infrastructure engineering experience across cloud, virtualization, storage, networking, and systems administration
• Experience supporting large, distributed, multi-office enterprise environments
• Strong expertise within hybrid cloud infrastructure and enterprise operations
• Experience with Azure hybrid cloud technologies, including services related to governance, monitoring, policy management, and hybrid connectivity
• Strong background with VMware technologies including vSphere, ESXi, NSX, vCenter, and related enterprise virtualization platforms
• Experience with infrastructure automation and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, Ansible, PowerShell, or similar technologies
• Strong Linux systems engineering experience across enterprise environments
• Experience supporting highly available production systems, disaster recovery, backup, and operational resiliency initiatives
• Familiarity with identity and access management concepts including RBAC and hybrid identity environments
• Experience with enterprise storage, backup, and data protection technologies
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities across complex infrastructure environments
• Exposure to AI-assisted operational tooling, automation, or intelligent monitoring platforms is a plus
• Prior experience within regulated or professional services environments is highly valued

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience
