Senior CNC Milling & Horizontal Machining Specialist (HAAS G‑Code)

Step into a day at Dunaway

At 7:00 a.m., you review a drawing, select raw stock, and map out the smartest path to a flawless part. You pick tooling, including high‑speed inserts for efficiency, set up a 3–4 axis HAAS VMC or horizontal machining center (circa 2014), and program it directly at the control in G‑code or conversational. You cut, verify, adjust, and measure—holding tight tolerances down to 0.0005 inch. When the job calls for it, you move seamlessly to a manual lathe or a Bridgeport to finish features. Before 3:30 p.m., every dimension is checked, every edge is right, and the print is met—without compromise.

What you’ll do

• Independently plan, set up, program, and machine parts from drawing and raw stock to final spec.
• Program with G‑code and conversational methods on HAAS controls; optimize feeds/speeds and tool paths.
• Machine steel and flame‑cut components using high‑speed inserts and proven techniques.
• Interpret blueprints and verify all requirements; inspect parts and document dimensional accuracy.
• Operate manual equipment as needed (vertical and horizontal boring mills, lathes, manual mills).

What you bring

• Graduate of a formal machining/manufacturing training program.
• 5+ years of hands‑on manual machining experience.
• 3+ years programming/operating CNC with HAAS control panels.

Preferred

• 10+ years in manual machining across mills, lathes, and boring mills.
• 5+ years working with HAAS CNC equipment.
• Mastercam familiarity.

Environment & schedule

• Climate‑controlled, clean shop; exposure to moving mechanical parts.
• Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
• No mandatory overtime or weekends; optional OT when available.

Compensation

Pay is based on experience.
