Location: Rockford, IL
From the moment you review a new print to the final inspection, you own the craft. Your day begins by studying engineering drawings and specifications, mapping out the sequence of operations, and deciding how best to secure the work. You program CNC mills and lathes in G‑code both at the machine and offline, validate your programs, and set up tooling and workholding for a right‑the‑first‑time run.
On the floor, you adjust offsets, swap tools, and monitor production with a sharp eye for repeatability. You complete first article inspections and lend support to FPQP and PPAP Level 3 activities with guidance as needed. You create and maintain inspection sheets and measurement methods, and you verify every critical feature using precision metrology—calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, and more.
Between cycles, you share best practices, training machine operators on setups and safe, efficient operation. When needed, you hop onto manual equipment—mills, lathes, and band saws—to keep work moving. You deburr with care, keep machines clean and in spec, and collaborate with teammates, customers, and suppliers to hit goals for quality, delivery, and efficiency.
Details will be discussed with qualified candidates during the hiring process.
