Axis Product Development is a growing aerospace and defense manufacturing company seeking a Senior Setup Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate is experienced with 3/4/5 Axis machines, detail-oriented, organized, and committed to producing high-quality work while maintaining full traceability and compliance with aerospace quality requirements.
Responsibilities
Able to set up and operate CNC milling machines
Interpret engineering drawings, customer specifications, travelers, and work instructions
Able to use appropriate measuring devices such as: calipers, micrometers, plug gages, thread gages, and height gages
Maintain traceability and documentation throughout the manufacturing process
Record production activities and complete required paperwork accurately.
Handle parts carefully to prevent cosmetic or dimensional damage.
Be willing to cross-train and support the growth of other employees as needed
Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
Follow all company safety procedures and quality system requirements.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Team oriented with strong interpersonal skills, comfortable working in an open environment with teammates across the organization

Qualifications
Required
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and work instructions.
Strong math skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Basic computer skills
Ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English
Self-motivated
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
Preferred
Familiar with Haas, DN Solutions (Doosan), and Matsuura machinery
Experience in aerospace, medical device, or precision manufacturing environments
Fixture design and manual machining experience a plus
Experience using ERP systems and electronic work instructions.
Understanding of AS9100 quality requirements
