A large, complex organization is seeking an experienced Senior Manager of Collections to lead and optimize its collections function. This is a high-impact, long-term contract opportunity ideal for a seasoned leader who thrives in fast-paced, corporate environments and can drive performance, process improvement, and team accountability. This is a contract position through 2027.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of collections professionals, ensuring high performance and accountability
Oversee high-volume accounts receivable portfolios and drive collection efforts on delinquent accounts
Analyze aging reports and payment trends to identify risk, escalation needs, and improvement opportunities
Establish and monitor KPIs related to collections performance, bad debt reduction, and cash flow
Manage complex customer disputes and partner with internal teams (billing, sales, legal) to resolve issues
Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness of collections activities
Provide strategic direction on credit and collections policies, including escalation and write-off recommendations
Collaborate with senior leadership to align collections strategy with broader financial goals
Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and compliance with internal policies and procedures
Qualifications
10+ years of progressive experience in credit and collections within a large corporate environment
Proven experience leading collections teams and driving performance improvements
Strong understanding of accounts receivable processes, aging analysis, and dispute resolution
Ability to manage high-volume, complex portfolios and escalated accounts
Experience working cross-functionally to resolve billing and payment issues
Demonstrated leadership skills with a focus on coaching, mentoring, and team development
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and drive decision-making
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, or similar) and advanced Excel preferred
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
Pay Details: $50.00 to $65.00 per hour
