Our client is a well established, multi-office law firm with a national commercial litigation practice built over nearly five decades. The firm serves institutional clients across a range of industries, including financial services, real estate, manufacturing, insurance, and hospitality, handling matters that span complex litigation, corporate transactions, and creditor and bankruptcy work. With attorneys based across several states along the East Coast and beyond, the firm has earned a reputation for tackling difficult, high stakes disputes on behalf of banks, lenders, and other institutional clients, and for building long term relationships with sophisticated business clients who return to the firm for repeat engagements.

The attorney selected for this position will own an entire state practice within the firm's creditors' rights group, meaning direct P&L visibility, real input into staffing and strategy, and the autonomy to run the practice as their own book of business while drawing on the infrastructure, referral network, and institutional client relationships of an established multistate platform. This suits an attorney who has already built a reputation in creditors' rights or commercial collections work and is ready to lead rather than support, with a support staff and associate team already in place to execute on their direction. Compensation is structured to reward origination and practice growth, and the firm has a track record of promoting practice leaders into firm wide leadership and shareholder positions.

Job Details

Active law license in good standing in the relevant state, with eligibility for admission in additional states within the firm's footprint as needed

Substantial experience in creditors' rights, commercial collections, foreclosure, or related bankruptcy and insolvency work, ideally gained at a firm serving institutional or financial services clients across multiple states

Demonstrated experience directing litigation strategy on behalf of institutional clients, including banks, servicers, or other regulated lenders

Prior experience supervising a team of attorneys and support staff, with the ability to manage caseloads, delegate effectively, and maintain service standards across a full state practice

Existing book of business or strong referral relationships in the creditors' rights space strongly preferred

Excellent written and oral advocacy skills, with comfort appearing before courts at all levels within the relevant jurisdiction

Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to take ownership of practice performance, staffing decisions, and client relationships
