Senior Commercial Real Estate Attorney | Portland, Maine | $140,000 - $190,000/year + $12,000 commission

Complex commercial real estate transactions require an attorney who can do more than review documents. This role calls for someone who can independently manage sophisticated matters, negotiate deals, advise clients, and work closely with an established Maine real estate team.

Why Your Work Matters

You’ll play a key role in transactions involving acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, development, financing, and joint ventures. From due diligence through closing, you’ll help clients navigate the legal, regulatory, title, zoning, and development issues that can make or break a transaction.

What You’ll Do

• Handle sophisticated commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, development, financing, and joint ventures
• Draft, review, and negotiate purchase agreements, leases, development agreements, financing documents, easements, and other real estate contracts
• Advise clients on legal, regulatory, transactional, title, zoning, and development matters
• Manage transactions from due diligence through closing
• Coordinate with clients, lenders, brokers, developers, title companies, and opposing counsel
• Collaborate with the firm's Maine real estate team on complex transactions and client matters

What You’ll Need

• 7+ years of real estate law experience
• Significant commercial real estate transactional experience
• Strong experience with acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, development, financing, land use and zoning, title, and related transactions
• Ability to independently draft, negotiate, and manage complex real estate agreements and transactions
• Excellent legal drafting, negotiation, analytical, communication, and client-management skills
• Maine commercial real estate experience is highly desirable
