We are a professional staffing firm, working with organizations across the country to place exceptional candidates. Currently, we have a Senior Commercial Underwriter opportunity with a Bank that offers the opportunity to work for a purpose-driven organization that combines innovative banking technology with a strong commitment to serving communities and helping customers build long-term financial success. 

The Senior Commercial Underwriter isresponsible for the specific duties listed below.

Your specific duties will include:
  • Underwrite multifamily and commercial real estate loans.
  • Provide clear and detailed credit analysis based on a thorough understanding of debt service coverage ratios (DSCR), cash flow, appraisals, credit analysis, capitalization (cap) rates, and other underwriting metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, as well as the Bank's policies and procedures, to achieve satisfactory ratings from internal and external auditors.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding the Bank's current loan programs, policies, and pricing.
  • Collaborate with Multifamily Loan Consultants, brokers, and management to prepare loan packages for Senior Loan Committee approval.
  • Review and analyze appraisals to determine market value and ensure the property meets the Bank's underwriting standards and qualifies as acceptable collateral for the requested loan.
  • Work closely with loan processors and funders throughout the underwriting process and consistently review and countersign loan decisions as required.
Required qualifications for the position include:
  • A minimum of 5-years of multi-family residential underwriting experience
  • A thorough understanding of 5-36 multi-family units and commercial real estate underwriting guidelines and process
  • A high-level understanding of compliance regulations.
  • High School Diploma required, bachelor's degree preferred.

REGULATORY KNOWLEDGE:

Position requires a high level of understanding of the following Compliance Regulations:
  • Equal Credit Opportunity Act (Regulation B)
  • Fair Housing Act
  • Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (Regulation C)
  • Flood Disaster Protection Act
  • Bank Secrecy Act
Pay Rate Range: $48.00 - $50.62 an hour

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience, and location. Employees have access to healthcare benefits, including medical, dental, and vision as well as a 401(k) plan.
