Senior Communications Specialist

JOB SUMMARY:

Under moderate direction, selects, develops, writes and edits information and materials for various organizational print, electronic and broadcast publications for both external and internal company communications. Develops and maintains lines of communication with media contacts and other external audience groups. Acts as a resource for less experienced colleagues

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Selects, develops, writes and edits information and materials for various organizational print, electronic and broadcast publications for both external and internal company communications.
• Drafts internal company newsletters and posts for the company TV system and presents for approval. Finalizes publication upon approval. Monitors and addresses issues with the internal TV system. Selects and supervises outside vendors used for any print or media design.
• Assists more senior staff with public relations efforts by drafting press releases, press conference speeches, trade show/event talking points, company and product fact sheets and other literature.
• Represents the company during community projects and gathering or other media events. Handles oneself with tact and decorum and refers any complex questions to more senior staff.
• Acts as an internal consultant on communications drafted and sent by other departments such as human resources, health and safety, sales and others.
• Collaborates with Digital Marketing specialists on verbiage for website content, radio and TV promotions and other communications needs.
• Collaborates with Tradeshow specialists on communications needs prior to, during and after events.
• Completes special projects as directed by department management.
• Acts as a mentor to less experienced professionals.
• Supports continuous improvement activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor''s degree in communications, business, marketing or related field
• 3+ Years of Related Experience
• Experience in graphic design and photography.

• Good customer service skills with an ability to approach every business relationship as a partnership
• Good problem solving skills and demonstrated ability to address customer issues and partner on resolutions
• Good analytical skills
• Good negotiation skills and an ability to resolve situations while making a point firmly and seeking a positive outcome for both sides
• Strong competency in working with MS Office software such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel
• General knowledge of the automotive industry
• Basic project management skills

Annual Salary: $63,000 - $79,000
