Job Description
Position Summary
The Senior Community Schools Coordinator (SCSC), based at View Park Preparatory High School, plays a pivotal role in modeling the execution of the four pillars of Community Schools (integrated student supports, expanded learning time and opportunities, family and community engagement, and collaborative leadership and practices) on their campus and supporting and coaching other Community School Coordinators (CSCs) as they facilitate their own programs.
The SCSC is a strategic thought partner and executor responsible for the coordination and alignment of resources within their school community to achieve schoolwide and networkwide goals. The SCSC works side-by-side with the school leadership team and in partnership with school and network staff to:
- coordinate and deliver academic, social-emotional, health and wellness, and other resources to meet student and family needs;
- develop and execute family engagement calendars, communications, and opportunities for family engagement at the school site;
- coordinate school-based and community-based events and programming;
- facilitate student recruitment and enrollment efforts; convene and advise other CSCs across ICEF’s campuses to support aligned and successful implementation of Community Schools strategies and initiatives
This is an on-site position based at a school site; remote work is not available for this role.
Essential Functions
Resource Coordination
- Establish and strengthen partnerships with service providers to address academic, social-emotional, and physical health needs of students and families
- Solicit, coordinate and distribute resources to students and families
- Serve as the school’s designated homeless and foster youth liaison and support compliance with legal requirements and policies regarding homeless and foster youth
- Recruit, train and coordinate all volunteers at the school site while ensuring adherence to compliance standards (e.g., LiveScan, TB testing)
- Work closely with school leadership to coordinate resources and service providers for expanded learning opportunities
Family & Community Engagement
- Lead planning and execution of parent workshops, trainings, student recruitment events, school celebrations, and other routine events (e.g., Coffee with the Principal)
- Collaborate with the principal to lead Parent Advisory Council and/or School Site Council
- Represent the school at community-level events, meetings, and taskforces
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and elected officials
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with parents and families and cultivate engaged parents as ambassadors for the school
Student Recruitment & Enrollment
- In partnership with principal, School Operations Manager, and network team, lead student outreach and recruitment efforts, data tracking, and enrollment processes
- Lead canvassing, phone banking, and robust lead follow up efforts at the school level
- Lead the returning student Intent to Return campaign each year
- Identify and leverage community opportunities and events to increase ICEF’s visibility with potential families and community members
- Plan and host student recruitment events such as information sessions, open houses, and student orientations
- Maintain accurate data reports related to school-wide recruitment and enrollment
Program Management & Capacity Building
- Working closely with school leadership, collect, review and analyze student and community data to develop new strategies and plan for continuous improvement of existing interventions with a focus on improving student attendance, behavior, and academic performance
- Develop systems and tools to assess and improve the effectiveness of community school programming and events, including attendance and engagement rates
- Maintain systems and data trackers to be able to generate reports on Community School outcomes
- Provide coaching and professional development to CSCs, supporting data literacy, resource prioritization, community outreach, and case management effectiveness. (Note: The direct manager of each CSC is their site principal or principal designee).
- Actively participate in school leadership team meetings, sharing relevant information and data, and highlighting concerns and developing solutions
- Participate in and serve as a strategic thought partner to the Community Schools Committee on initiatives related to student support and community engagement

Minimum Qualifications
- An earned Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university
- 3 years experience in one or more major student/family support areas, e.g. academic support, mental health, afterschool, youth development, family engagement or leadership development.
- Experience in coordination and/or management/administration in an educational, non-profit and/or human services setting.
- Familiarity with community school models and/or integrated student support frameworks.
- Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
- Experience in collaboration, meeting facilitation, problem-solving and team building.
- Experience with school-based service delivery and community outreach.
- Ability to multitask; skills to be a team player and self-starter, and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency with Google Apps, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Valid CA Driver’s License and ability to travel locally.
- Tuberculosis (TB) clearance.
- Background check clearance.
- Commitment to educational equity and ICEF’s mission.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Master’s degree preferred in education, social work, public administration, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience in team leadership, project management, and coaching staff across multiple sites.
- A high degree of cultural awareness, trauma informed approaches, and competency in cross-cultural practices with children and families.
- Understanding of compliance issues related to foster/homeless youth.
