Senior Companion / Caregiver

JFS at Home is seeking compassionate, dependable, and engaging Senior Companions to join our growing team.

If you enjoy spending time with seniors, creating meaningful connections, participating in activities, and helping older adults remain safe, independent, and happy in their homes, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and social engagement for seniors in their homes
• Encourage participation in activities, hobbies, games, walks, and conversations
• Assist with mobility both inside and outside the home
• Accompany clients to appointments, outings, errands, and community activities
• Plan and prepare meals and provide light assistance with daily routines
• Assist with personal care and hygiene as needed
• Complete shopping errands or accompany clients while shopping
• Perform light housekeeping and help maintain a safe living environment
• Observe and report changes in a client's condition or unusual incidents
• Respond appropriately and responsibly in emergency situations
• Help promote independence, dignity, safety, and overall well-being

Qualifications

• Enjoy building meaningful relationships with seniors
• Friendly, patient, compassionate, and dependable
• Passion for helping seniors stay engaged, active, and socially connected
• Ability to work independently in a one-on-one home setting
• Willingness to learn and continuously develop care giving skills
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Automobile insurance that includes bodily injury liability coverage
• Prior experience as a Companion in a healthcare setting preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent work experience
• Schedule flexible availability
• Commitment to providing exceptional customer service and quality care
