Overview
Clark Contracting Services (CCS) is seeking a skilled Senior Estimator to support our Self-Perform Operations team. This role is integral to the success of our projects-leading estimating efforts, supporting preconstruction, and ensuring a seamless transition from bid to execution. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, leadership ability, and a proactive approach to driving accuracy, efficiency, and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full-cycle estimating efforts, including quantity takeoffs, scope development, and bid package assembly
- Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Prepare detailed proposals and ensure scope completeness and coordination prior to submission
- Manage estimating systems and bid documentation (e.g., EDGE, BuildingConnected, bid logs, drawing management)
- Support project award and turnover, including buyout, budgeting, and subcontract/purchase order drafting
- Collaborate with operations and field teams to ensure a smooth transition from preconstruction to execution
- Review estimates for accuracy and mentor junior estimators and support staff
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, best practices, and process enhancements
- Support business development efforts by building client relationships and contributing to proposals and presentations
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in estimating within self-perform or specialty construction
- Experience with trades such as drywall, acoustical ceilings, carpentry, millwork, flooring, or related scopes
- Strong knowledge of construction documents, takeoffs, and cost analysis
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field (or equivalent experience)
- OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days)
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
