Overview:

Colliers Engineering & Design is currently seeking Senior Construction Inspectors to join our Construction Engineering & Inspection team in Maine! 

 

When you join our Construction Engineering & Inspection team, you’ll help deliver the infrastructure that keeps communities moving! In this role, you’ll be part of a collaborative, field-focused group supporting transportation, bridge, utility, and municipal construction projects across the region. Our team partners closely with clients, contractors, and local agencies to solve challenges in real time, uphold quality and safety standards, and help bring important public infrastructure improvements from plan to completion.

Responsibilities:
  • Read and understand plans and specifications to determine information for inspection work items during and after construction.
  • Monitor and inspect construction projects, including quality assurance.
  • Ensure contractors follow the project plans and specifications in accordance with applicable construction procedures, methods, and codes.
  • Track workers and equipment on project.
  • Review testing reports (soils, aggregate, steel, concrete, HMA, masonry, etc.).
  • Document the construction progress with site reports, photos, etc.
  • Monitor construction schedule (Critical Path Method) to ensure project is on schedule.
  • Facilitate communications between owners, contractors, and designers on a project.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • 5+ years of construction engineering/inspection experience required.
  • ACI and NETTCP concrete inspector certification, or NETTCP paving certification required. 
  • 10-hour OSHA certification required. 
  • Expertise in federally aided transportation projects as a construction inspector preferred.
  • Experience working with/for MaineDOT and/or municipal clients.
  • Valid US driver's license required.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Compensation: $35.00 to $40.00 per hour (depending on qualifications)

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work outdoors on project sites for extended periods of time and in various weather conditions is required.
