Location: Looking for candidates located in Baltimore, MD
Starting at: $40-50/hour (flexible based on experience, project location, and potential overtime)
Schedule: Full-time, project-based
Relocation: May be required depending on project assignment and location

Position Overview

Construction Support Solutions is seeking experienced Construction Managers, Construction Inspectors, and Superintendents to support current and upcoming federal construction projects across the United States.

 

The ideal candidate will have experience serving as an owner's representative on complex construction projects, providing field oversight, quality assurance, and contractor coordination throughout all phases of construction. Candidates with experience on large-scale infrastructure or industrial projects involving electrical and mechanical systems are strongly encouraged to apply.

 

Experience supporting federal construction projects, particularly within the state of Maryland, is highly desirable, as is familiarity with local trade capabilities, applicable federal and state building codes, and construction management platforms such as Procore.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct daily field inspections to verify construction quality, progress, and compliance with plans, specifications, and contract requirements.

  • Serve as the owner's on-site representative, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project standards.

  • Attend project meetings, document discussions, and prepare meeting minutes.

  • Review and provide comments on schedules, submittals, RFIs, testing reports, and change orders.

  • Maintain detailed inspection logs, daily reports, testing records, and photo documentation.

  • Identify and track non-conformance issues while verifying corrective actions are completed.

  • Monitor field activities for compliance with OSHA regulations and EM 385-1-1 safety standards.

  • Support cost and schedule evaluations, contractor progress reviews, and pay application validation.

  • Coordinate with contractors, engineers, architects, and agency representatives to resolve field issues.

  • Prepare timely reports and documentation supporting project performance and compliance.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Authorization to work in the United States (CSS does not provide sponsorship).

  • 5–10 years of construction experience, or a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field with equivalent experience.

  • Previous experience as a Construction Manager, Construction Superintendent, Construction Inspector, QA/QC Manager, or Owner's Representative.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and technical documents.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare detailed reports and communicate effectively with project stakeholders.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software.

  • Willingness to travel and perform field inspections, including outdoor work, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience on large-scale infrastructure or industrial projects involving electrical and mechanical systems.

  • Experience supporting federal construction projects in the state of Maryland, including knowledge of local trade capabilities and expertise.

  • ICC Certification preferred.

  • Working knowledge of federal and state building codes.

  • OSHA 30 Certification preferred.

  • Experience using Procore construction management software.
