Build environments that directly impact patient care and community health. As a Sr. Construction Manager supporting Stanford Health Care's Tri-Valley portfolio, you will help deliver complex healthcare projects that clinicians depend on every day.
This is a hands-on, onsite role based in Pleasanton, CA (not a people manager position). You will lead the day-to-day execution of multiple projects within active, highly regulated healthcare environments, ensuring work is delivered safely, on schedule, and on budget while maintaining operational continuity.
You'll serve as a key connector across internal teams, designers, contractors, and clinical stakeholders-translating plans into execution and proactively resolving issues in the field.
What you'll do
Lead day-to-day construction execution across multiple projects from planning through closeout
Work in collaboration with SHC Facilities Planning and Design, Facilities Engineering, Activations and Business Operations.
Drive coordination of safety programs including ICRA, PCRA, and ILSM in partnership with Environmental Health & Safety
Identify and resolve field issues quickly to maintain schedule and minimize operational disruption
Track and communicate project performance using tools such as PMWeb, Bluebeam, and PlanGrid
Provide clear, concise updates to leadership on scope, schedule, risks, and budget
Own day-to-day project execution, risk management, and stakeholder communication
Coordinate consultants, contractors, and internal partners to keep projects moving forward
Balance competing priorities while maintaining safety, compliance, and quality standards
Implement quality control measures, prepare organized and accurate project documentation for reporting
Success is driven by healthcare or complex construction experience, strong communication, and disciplined project leadership
What you'll bring
8-10+ years of construction/project management experience in healthcare or other regulated environments, preferred
Experience delivering projects from $50-$100M+ range
Experience working in or around OSHPD/HCAI projects strongly preferred
Working knowledge of PMWeb, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, MS Powerpoint and MS Office
Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across diverse stakeholder groups
A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a strong focus on safety and execution

A Brief Overview
The Senior Construction Manager is an advanced individual contributor responsible for leading the planning, coordination, execution and financial control of multiple complex healthcare construction projects. This role provides expert owner's senior field representative, providing expert construction oversight while projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within approved budgets, and in compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements. This role specializes in advanced construction methods, complex site logistics, regulatory compliance, and resolution of unforeseen field conditions. The Senior Construction Manager drives operational excellence by enforcing standardized procedures, piloting new technologies and lean construction practices, improving cost, schedule and quality outcomes across construction projects. As a senior technical resource, this position provides guidance to Construction Managers, supports accurate forecasting and reporting, and ensures all cost-related actions are fully documented, auditable, and consistent with contract terms and departmental procedures. This role requires presence at multiple Stanford Health Care facilities and regular presence on active construction sites across the Bay Area to lead field execution, coordination, and compliance activities.

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $70.52 - $93.43 per hour
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
