Job Purpose

The Senior Construction Project Engineer supports advanced manufacturing capital projects by managing schedule, cost, and performance controls. This role focuses on day-to-day project monitoring, reporting, and analysis to help deliver complex equipment-intensive manufacturing facilities and production systems on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update integrated project schedules for facilities, production lines, and equipment installations, incorporating contractor and vendor timelines into the master schedule.
  • Track project progress against baseline schedules, identify critical impacts, and support look-ahead planning, sequencing, and schedule recovery efforts.
  • Coordinate with OEMs, vendors, contractors, and internal teams to track fabrication, delivery, installation milestones, submittals, and key project deliverables.
  • Assist in establishing project budgets and cost control structures for capital projects, including tracking commitments, actual costs, and forecasts.
  • Analyze cost variances, support monthly cost reporting, and assist with evaluating financial impacts of scope changes.
  • Monitor engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities to measure progress and ensure alignment with project plans.
  • Prepare and maintain weekly and monthly project reports, dashboards, and performance metrics, ensuring accuracy and consistency of project data.
  • Support risk identification, change management, and documentation by evaluating schedule and cost impacts and maintaining project controls logs and records.

Qualifications

  • 4 years of experience in project planning, scheduling, and cost control in a construction or industrial environment.
  • Proven experience supporting industrial, high-tech, or advanced manufacturing projects.
  • Strong experience working on construction projects with heavy equipment involved.
  • Working knowledge of Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
  • Strong Excel skills; Power BI or similar tools a plus.
  • Proven understanding of manufacturing CAPEX procurement and commissioning workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMI-SP, PMP in progress, or AACE certification.
  • Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement environments.
