Senior Construction Project Manager

Location: Richmond, VA (Onsite – 5 Days/Week)
Salary: $150,000 – $170,000

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex construction projects in Richmond, VA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background managing projects within the Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, R&D, or Healthcare sectors and be capable of overseeing all phases of project delivery from preconstruction through closeout.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead project planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and execution activities
• Manage project teams, consultants, contractors, and client stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
• Oversee project financials, including forecasting, cost control, change management, and reporting
• Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring milestones and deliverables are achieved
• Identify and mitigate project risks while proactively resolving issues
• Review construction documents, contracts, submittals, RFIs, and change orders
• Conduct regular project meetings and provide clear communication to clients and leadership
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, regulatory, and project-specific requirements
• Coordinate design, construction, commissioning, and turnover activities
• Prepare executive-level reports and presentations on project status, budget, schedule, and risks

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
• 8+ years of construction project management experience, including leadership of large or complex projects
• Direct experience managing Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, R&D, or Healthcare construction projects required
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods, project controls, budgeting, and scheduling
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, and client stakeholders
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software
• Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cGMP, laboratory, clean room, healthcare, or other highly regulated environments
• Knowledge of Primavera P6, Procore, PM Web, or similar project management platforms
• PMP, CCM, PE, or other industry certifications are a plus
