This position is located in the office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Countermeasures, Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS/C).

In this position you will serve as a Senior Construction Security Advisor with responsibility for providing authoritative advice, guidance, and direction with regard to security requirements for new office building construction.

PSCs do not acquire a competitive or excepted service status from this position. Contract is 1 year; renewable up to 4 years. Conditions of Employment: Education:

Requirements: Qualifications:

Applicants must meet all the qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement. 

Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Experience which demonstrates skill in the preparation of comprehensive construction security plans for new office building construction projects in high-risk security environments.
  • Experience which demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of construction policies and standards sufficient to lead site inspections to ensure projects follow approved security plans.
  • Experience which demonstrates the ability to solve highly complex construction security problems, devise appropriate solutions and provide thorough recommendations to decision-makers. 
  • Experience which demonstrates skill in applying, interpreting, adapting and formulating proposed revisions to construction security policies and standards to improve effectiveness and enhance compliance.

There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-15 position.
