JOB DESCRIPTION
Everforth Apex Systems is searching for a skilled Azure Cloud Engineer professional with excellent consultative abilities to assume the position of a Sr. Consultant within our Cloud & Infrastructure practice. This individual will serve in a strategic role at Apex, collaborating with internal and client project teams to offer direction in designing, implementing, and supporting our Cloud Architecture capability and service offerings. The consultant will also provide technical support for Apex sales, solution management, and account teams during the scoping of new Cloud & Infrastructure based opportunities.

- Collaborate internally with Apex Account Teams, Solution Leaders, Industry Leaders, Practice Leaders, and others to develop Apex Solutions Delivery Services business.
- Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility to acquire skills to meet business needs.
- Build strong client, industry, and internal relationships and represent Apex Systems as a leader within Industry
and Professional events and communities. Develop and maintain strong internal and external customer
relationships.
- Lead team members and direct reports to Lead the development, growth, and success of your team, developing
professionals for the next stage of their careers.
- This role may be responsible for managing hybrid project teams consisting of Apex Contract Employees, Internal
Apex employees, client employees and external vendors.
- Stay current on relevant technology trends and practices.
- Continually innovate, seek creative solutions, and find new ways of adding value.
- Cloud Engineering & Azure Platform Delivery
- Design, implement, and support secure, scalable, highly available, and cost-effective solutions within
Microsoft Azure.
- Participate in cloud migration, modernization, and optimization initiatives for enterprise environments.
- Build and maintain Azure infrastructure, networking, identity, storage, and compute solutions.
- Implement Azure landing zones, governance controls, and operational best practices.
- Collaborate with architects and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Ensure Azure environments align with security, compliance, and operational standards.
- Cloud Operations & Support
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Azure-based infrastructure and services.
- Support production environments and resolve complex platform and infrastructure issues.
- Perform root-cause analysis and implement long-term solutions for recurring issues.
- Maintain system reliability, availability, performance, and disaster recovery capabilities.
- Assist with cloud cost management and optimization initiatives.
- Automation & DevOps
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, or similar
tools.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and operational processes.
- Support cloud-native and platform engineering best practices across Azure environments.
- Assist with containerization and orchestration initiatives utilizing Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Security, Governance & Collaboration
- Implement Azure security controls and identity management solutions utilizing Microsoft Entra ID.
- Configure and support monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions.
- Contribute to governance, compliance, and cloud security initiatives.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, security, and data teams to deliver integrated cloud
solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers when appropriate.
ON-SITE WORK EXPECTATIONS (US & CANADA)
As a consulting position, the work location for this role varies according to client needs. Accordingly, this is not a remote
position. While some assignments may be performed largely remotely, other assignments require fully on-site work, hybrid
work, and/or occasional travel.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting cloud infrastructure solutions.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with Azure networking, virtual machines, storage, identity, and security services.
- Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
- Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions.
- Experience supporting cloud migration and modernization projects.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- HashiCorp Terraform Associate
- Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and container platforms.
- Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Defender for Cloud, Azure Policy, and Microsoft Sentinel.
- Familiarity with cloud governance and FinOps best practices.
- Experience working in hybrid-cloud environments.
- Exposure to AI/ML services such as Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI, Azure Machine Learning, AWS Bedrock, or
Vertex AI.
- Prior consulting or client-facing experience supporting enterprise cloud transformation initiatives.
