As a Sr. Content Planning Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping how Amazon translates its gaming content strategy into actionable investments across a global portfolio of games. This role will lead our content roadmap and programming for Amazon Gaming.

We are looking for a tastemaker with deep understanding of the gaming industry, our target audience, and managing subscription products to curate the Luna portfolio to delight Amazon customers. Using audience research, data analysis, publisher outreach, and financial forecasting, you will build and manage the Luna content roadmap to delight customers and drive business growth by curating games to fit Luna's content mission. You will partner closely with finance, business development, studio, operations, marketing, and data teams - curating a pipeline of new games for Luna customers and executing the greenlighting process to launch them into service.

This role will require high collaboration and influencing skills, partnering broadly across the organization at both a strategic, operational and tactical level.

Key job responsibilities

  • Source new titles and opportunities for Amazon Luna - prioritized based on their customer relevance, alignment with strategy, and impact to the business.
  • Evaluate and manage intake of new opportunities (across 1P / 2P / 3P publishing) to uncover innovative games that can fuel Luna's platform growth.
  • Build an optimal portfolio with a mix between genres, game sizes, audience tastes, regional relevance, and more - ensure the Luna portfolio reflects the right content mix and priorities to achieve business objectives
  • Analyze audience insights / research and performance data to shape content decisions and evaluate new additions and renewals. Prioritize content based on business impact, ROI analysis, and financial forecast models.
  • Work directly with Amazon internal game studios to influence slate creation, scheduling, and associated IP franchises
  • Manage, monitor, and share the launch calendar using available content inventory to balance launch timing, catalog size / duration, and stakeholder readiness. Collaborate with operations, studios, and business development stakeholders to maintain rhythm of business
  • Analyze performance using success frameworks leveraging KPIs and ROI to assess portfolio performance. Share performance updates at regular rhythm of business updates and reviews
  • Lead cross-functional teams (finance, marketing, studios, business development) to execute subscription-focused initiatives such as negotiating licensing deals, aligning content launches with marketing campaigns, or expanding new products.

Amazon.com Inc

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
