JOB DESCRIPTION:

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE 

Abbott Rapid Diagnostics is part of Abbott's Diagnostics family of businesses, bringing together exceptional teams of experts and industry leading technologies to support diagnostic testing which provides important information for treatment and management of diseases and other conditions. 

This position will provide strategic analysis, essential redline guidance based on approved corporate policies and vital contributions towards contract process improvements, in addition to administrative and procedural support to internal and external customers on behalf of the Contracts & Pricing Department. This role acts as a liaison between account executives, regional sales directors, directors of national accounts, and others in processing, negotiating and administration of sales contracts. 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Ensure timely negotiation and review of sales contracts 

• Negotiate, redline and draft language for high-value complex contract terms and conditions in accordance with corporate policies 

• Acts as a Contract Administration lead and be able to train new hires 

• Analyze potential risks that contract changes may pose to the organization and provide solutions  

• Present and explain contract conditions and details to customers, business partners, and management 

• Work with different levels of personnel within an organization to analyze and solidify an overall contract strategy 

• Independently support 4 or more sales regions 

• Acts as a resource for the sales organization in regard to current policies, processes and programs 

• Meet deadlines and update sales reps with status 

• Be one of the company’s CRM system super-users to generate reports, analyze data, and track product and ordering patterns 

• Interface with internal fulfillment group and distributors to establish working relationships, assure proper compliance with contracts 

• Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal/external business associates that reflect positively on the company and is consistent with the company’s policies and practices. 

• Perform other duties & projects as assigned. 

• Understand and are aware of the quality consequences which may occur from the improper performance of their specific job. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelors Degree (± 16 years) in a business-related discipline.  

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in commercial sales contracting or contract administration.  

  • Minimum intermediate Word and Excel experience is a must.  

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience directly related to contract administration, preferably within the biotech/ healthcare industry.  

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in contract negotiations and redlining of complex commercial contracts. 

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively and constructively communicate across departmental disciplines while pursuing contract department goals.  

  • Must have excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. 

  • Must have customer service attitude & good computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). 

  • Self-starter and a multi-tasker. 

  • Ability to work in a high volume, dynamic team environment.  

  • Experience with Salesforce.com is preferred.  

  • Previous healthcare, biotech or sales industry experience. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Previous healthcare or biotech experience preferred 

  • Advanced salesforce.com experience  

  • 8+ years’ experience negotiating and redlining complex agreements 

 

     

The base pay for this position is

$78,000.00 – $156,000.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
