OverviewUnder general supervision, the Senior Contracts and Grants Analyst is responsible for performing pre and post‑award research administration duties, including developing research proposals, managing awards, processing contract and grant transactions, and maintaining records in compliance with institutional and sponsor policies.ResponsibilitiesCoordinate submission of proposals to multiple agencies and develop multi‑year budgets.Analyze financial information and recommend solutions for agency‑specific terms.Approve and process transactions for signature by authorized officials.Assist faculty in planning and ensuring compliance with agency terms and federal OMB circulars.QualificationsBachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.4 to 7 years of related research administration experience in a university environment.Thorough understanding of research administration guidelines of federal and non‑federal sponsors.Knowledge of compliance requirements for human/animal subjects, financial conflict of interest, biosafety, etc.Proficiency in financial analysis, customized reporting, and spreadsheet/database software.Strong written and verbal communication skills and customer service focus.EEO StatementThe University of California is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer with a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff.
