Job Title: Senior Control Systems Integration Technical Specialist / Programmer (Job ID 193753)Location: Winston‑Salem, Charlotte, or Raleigh, North Carolina (select one)HDR's Building Engineering Services Group is seeking a Senior Control Systems Integration Technical Specialist / Programmer to program, test, implement, and commission control systems. The role requires coordination with design, construction, and client teams to ensure projects stay within scope, budget, and schedule.ResponsibilitiesLead control systems integration projects.Participate in development of scope, schedule and budget.Maintain a fundamental understanding of programming and standard engineering practices.Use Microsoft Office to produce detail‑oriented reports.Possess knowledge of controls and automation principles and electrical circuits.Program the project control system as defined by the scope – SCADA, PLC, HMI, Historian, communications hardware, etc.Execute assigned tasks within scope, budget, and schedule.Coordinate with Design, Construction, and Start‑up team leaders for project control system.Download, test, and document control system programs and communication systems as defined in scope.Participate in field testing and commissioning of the control system.Be willing to travel as necessary; travel frequency and duration will depend on project/HDR needs.Preferred QualificationsProfessional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.Experience in water and wastewater facilities, oil & gas industry, power generation and distribution, mining, or other industrial facilities.Knowledgeable of Rockwell Allen‑Bradley, Emerson GE, AVEVA Wonderware, Inductive Automation Ignition, and/or other automation platforms.Active participation in engineering societies such as IEEE or ISA.Excellent communication, leadership, and planning skills; ability to thrive in a team environment.Strong skill set in preparing client presentations, project memoranda, and reports.Preference given to local candidates.Required QualificationsAssociate Degree in Engineering.Minimum of 10 years experience in process control system programming (SCADA, PLCs, HMIs, OITs, industrial communication networks) and assisting in start‑up and commissioning.Active participant of an employee‑owned culture.EEO StatementHDR is committed to employment equity.
