Senior Controller
Salary Range: $150,000 – $175,000 base 
About the Opportunity
A growing, private equity-backed professional services organization is seeking a Senior Controller to lead and elevate its accounting and finance function. This role offers broad ownership across accounting operations, financial reporting, forecasting, process improvement, and strategic finance support.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, operationally minded, and comfortable working in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment. This position provides high visibility with executive leadership and the opportunity to help build scalable financial processes and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the monthly close process and preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements
  • Manage ASC 606 revenue recognition for project-based engagements using cost-based input methodologies
  • Oversee billing, revenue tracking, and contract-related financial reporting
  • Direct external accounting resources supporting AP, AR, payroll, and general bookkeeping functions
  • Manage lender reporting, borrowing-base requirements, and covenant compliance
  • Own forecasting, financial modeling, and reporting for leadership stakeholders
  • Support budgeting, financial planning, and operational decision-making
  • Identify and implement process improvements across accounting and finance workflows
  • Evaluate opportunities for automation, scalability, and systems enhancements
  • Partner cross-functionally to improve financial visibility and operational performance
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • Strong GAAP accounting and month-end close experience
  • Hands-on ASC 606 revenue recognition experience required
  • Experience with ETC/EAC methodologies and contract-based financial tracking
  • Background in project-based services, consulting, construction, engineering, healthcare services, manufacturing services, or similar industries preferred
  • Experience managing outsourced accounting support or lean accounting environments preferred
  • Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical skills
  • Comfortable operating independently with a high level of ownership and accountability
  • Technology-forward mindset with interest in automation and process improvement
