    Purpose:

The Senior Controls Analyst supports Sinceri's internal control environment by documenting processes, testing key controls, coordinating remediation activities, and responding to ownership group and auditor requests. This role partners with Accounting, Finance, Operations, IT, HR, and community teams to strengthen financial reporting processes, maintain organized control evidence, and support practical, risk-based improvements across the organization.

    Essential Job Functions:

    Controls Governance & Documentation

    • Support internal control initiatives, including SOX-related controls and audit requirements for ownership groups subject to public-company reporting
    • Understand, evaluate, and document key business processes and controls through walkthroughs, narratives, flowcharts, risk and control matrices, and control inventories

    Controls Testing, Implementation & Remediation

    • Coordinate control design, implementation, and remediation across key accounting processes (financial reporting, journal entries, reconciliations, treasury, and system access), tracking owners, milestones, and follow-up through completion
    • Calculate, document, and apply approved materiality thresholds at the ownership-group, portfolio, and community levels
    • Maintain organized control evidence, track deficiencies and remediation through completion, and report status on testing, deficiencies, and open requests.
    • Develop and maintain Information Produced by the Entity (IPE) documentation, including source reports, report parameters, completeness and accuracy procedures, review evidence, and evidence-retention support
    • Support the IT general controls environment, including user access management, change management, system operations, and related testing and remediation activities

    Controls Audit Coordination & Reporting

    • Coordinate controls walkthroughs and testing with ownership groups, auditors, and internal process owners, including preparing documentation, responding to requests, and managing follow-up items
    • Prepare and deliver controls-related presentations and status updates to management and ownership groups, as requested

    Minimum Eligibility Requirements

    Experience & Credentials:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field required
    • 5+ years of combined experience in public accounting, internal audit, internal controls, or corporate accounting required, including public accounting audit experience
    • Hands-on experience with SOX or internal control over financial reporting (ICFR) documentation, walkthroughs, and control testing required
    • Corporate accounting, financial reporting, or internal controls experience following public accounting preferred
    • Experience testing or supporting IT general controls, including user access, change management, or system operations, preferred
    • CPA, CIA, or progress toward a relevant professional certification preferred
    • Experience auditing or working for an SEC registrant preferred
    • Experience in the senior living or healthcare industry preferred

    Technical Skills:

    • Strong understanding of accounting processes, GAAP, and internal control concepts
    • Experience documenting and testing processes, controls, or audit procedures
    • Strong Excel proficiency, including PivotTables and lookup functions
    • Skilled in working with large datasets across multiple systems
    • Familiarity with complex ERP systems and FloQast preferred
    • Uses approved technology, including AI and automation tools, to improve efficiency while protecting confidential information and validating outputs

    Professional Qualities:

    • High integrity with a strong ethical foundation
    • Detail-oriented and organized, with strong follow-through and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
    • Builds effective relationships across Accounting, Finance, Operations, IT, HR, and community teams to understand processes and implement practical control solutions
    • Explains control requirements clearly and respectfully, helping stakeholders understand how controls support accurate reporting, consistent operations, and risk management
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and writing skills, with the ability to translate complex processes into clear documentation
    • Uses sound judgment and a risk-based approach rather than relying solely on prior-year procedures
    • Professional, approachable, and adaptable, with the confidence to raise concerns and recommend practical solutions
