Overview:

Major League Soccer (MLS) seeks a Senior Coordinator, Content Marketing to join its Marketing department. By supporting clubs, players, tentpole events and major moments, our work focuses on driving match viewership and engagement with the core sporting product.

 

This position supports day-to-day storytelling on MLSsoccer.com, ensuring alignment with broader narratives and league priorities. Additionally, the Sr. Coordinator will work alongside desk editors and support long-term content initiatives that help broaden MLS fandom.  The ideal candidate brings a keen attention to detail, all while collaborating with other stakeholders at the league office and its 30 member clubs. They will apply an editor-minded approach to our workflows that maintain a high standard on fan-facing content.

 

Responsibilities:
  • Drive fan growth and engagement by supporting the creation of the league's content strategy and implementing the league's content strategy on O&O platforms.
  • Contribute to player, club & league storytelling by:
    • Capitalizing on the biggest MLS calendar moments & tentpole events.
    • Identifying proactive storytelling and narratives that deepen MLS fandom, strengthening bonds with current fans and attracting new fans; and
    • Ensuring content aligns with strategic vision and brand voice/values.
  • Provide best-in-class league knowledge/guidance to the entire enterprise, informing how fans interact with our product on matchdays and beyond.
  • Execute day-to-day operations of the league site and app content, while coordinating with leaders in the Content Marketing team, as well as a team of team of editors, writers and contributors.
  • Maintain consistent communications and workflows with the MLS graphics team and Club & League PR to support national-level storytelling around our biggest moments, as well as initiatives and news.
  • Support content syndication efforts.
  • Stay current on digital media trends, and inform how they're implemented across platforms.

 

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 3+ years of experience in Social Media, Marketing, or Communications required

Major League Soccer offers a competitive starting base salary of $66,500 - $70,000, based on individual qualifications, market financials, and operational business needs.
