Position Information

Hiring Department: Graduate School

Reports To: Assistant Director for Graduate School

Job Location: El Paso, Tx, On-site

Posting End Date: Open until filled. This posting may close once a sufficient number of qualified applications have been received.

Hours: 40 hours per week, standard Monday- Friday 8:00am- 5:00pm, flexibility is required on evenings and weekends

FLSA status: exempt

Earliest Start Date: As soon as possible.

Salary: $46,550 annually

Position Summary

Under minimal supervision, provides coordinating services, keeps official records, and executes administrative policies determined by or in conjunction with other officials, within area of assigned responsibility.

Manages the planning, coordination, and implementation of student support and professional development activities (virtual an d in-person) including monthly writing groups, new Graduate Student Social, and workshops that support graduate student success.

Provides support in reviewing and enhancing processes and workflows associated with the Dodson Research Grant and Travel Grant.

Builds and sustains relationships with campus partners while coordinating and supporting participation in campus-wide events to promote graduate education and student success.

Recruit and engage highly qualified prospective students for graduate degree and certificate programs at UTEP and through external outreach efforts.

Demonstrates ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as a member of a team.

Coordinates and manages targeted communication campaigns across email and social media channels to increase awareness of Graduate School opportunities, resources, and events.

Delivers high-quality customer service by responding promptly to phone calls, emails, and walk-in inquiries while providing accurate information and support.

Maintains knowledge of critical university-wide student success support services and resources and develops referral strategies to enhance the utilization of the services by graduate students.

Identifies areas of needed change and makes recommendations to improve operations.

Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems.

Complies with all State and University policies.

Other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors Degree

and

Experience: Three years of related experience and/or training to the essential duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Occasional traveling required.
