Senior Cost Accountant

Job Description Summary

The Senior Cost Accountant oversees daily cost and general accounting activities, ensuring accurate transactions, timely reporting, and compliance with applicable regulations. This role supports budgeting and forecasting, strengthens internal controls, and partners with cross-functional teams to improve processes and support business objectives.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

· Ensure accounting practices comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal controls.

· Maintain and improve cost accounting processes, including standard/average costing, rates, and variance analysis.

· Support inventory accounting (cycle counts, reconciliations, reserves, negative inventory), and fixed asset/CIP accounting.

· Prepare/analyze monthly results (JEs, reconciliations, management reporting) and deliver ad-hoc analysis.

· Support internal/external audits and required schedules and reporting.

· Partner with operations and other departments to resolve issues and drive process improvements.

Experience/Training/Education

· BS degree in Accounting or Finance or AS degree plus relevant work experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

· Strong cost accounting and financial reporting skills; ability to analyze variances and communicate drivers.

· Proficient with spreadsheets and accounting/ERP and consolidation/reporting tools; comfortable improving processes and controls.

· Highly organized; able to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.

· Effective written and verbal communication; collaborative, solutions-oriented team player.

Pay Details: $75,000.00 to $85,000.00 per year
